ICU - Resident Medical Officer

ICU - Resident Medical Officer is responsible for managing critically ill patients in the intensive care unit, supporting consultants during ICU rounds, monitoring patient condition, handling emergency situations, and maintaining clinical documentation. The requires MBBS, BHMS, or BAMS qualification with 2 to 5 years of experience. Candidates with fresher or experienced ICU/Ward exposure will be preferred.

Role & Responsibilities

• Attend ICU patients as per assigned duty schedule.
• Monitor vital signs, oxygen support, ventilator status, and patient condition.
• Assist intensivists and consultants during ICU rounds and procedures.
• Provide timely updates about patient condition changes to senior doctors.
• Support emergency response, CPR, code blue, and critical care interventions.
• Review investigation reports and coordinate required clinical follow-up.
• Maintain accurate ICU notes, progress records, and treatment documentation.
• Coordinate with nursing staff, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and support teams.
• Ensure prescribed medicines and treatment orders are followed properly.
• Support admission, transfer, discharge, and referral processes for ICU patients.
• Communicate basic patient updates to attendants as per hospital protocol.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and ICU care standards.
• Participate in shift handover with complete patient details.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and hospital information.
• Deliver disciplined, ethical, and patient-focused critical care support.
