Housekeeping Supervisor

Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising hospital housekeeping operations, cleanliness standards, hygiene practices, housekeeping staff deployment, patient area readiness, and infection control support. The requires graduate qualification with 2 to 3 years of hospital housekeeping management experience. Candidates should have knowledge of cleaning protocols, biomedical waste support, staff supervision, patient area hygiene, and hospital service standards.

Role & Responsibilities

• Supervise housekeeping staff across wards, ICU, OT, OPD, public areas, and offices.
• Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards are maintained in all assigned areas.
• Prepare staff duty allocation, shift schedules, and area-wise work plans.
• Monitor cleaning of patient rooms, washrooms, corridors, waiting areas, and critical zones.
• Support infection control practices and biomedical waste segregation compliance.
• Check availability and proper use of cleaning materials, tools, and disinfectants.
• Conduct regular rounds to inspect housekeeping quality and staff discipline.
• Train housekeeping staff on cleaning methods, safety, hygiene, and patient area behaviour.
• Coordinate with nursing, infection control, maintenance, and administration teams.
• Handle housekeeping complaints and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain housekeeping checklists, duty records, and cleaning documentation.
• Report damaged items, pest issues, spills, or safety concerns to seniors.
• Ensure proper grooming, attendance, and discipline of housekeeping staff.
• Support emergency cleaning, spill management, and isolation room cleaning.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and patient-friendly hospital environment.
