Billing Officer

The Billing Officer will be responsible for hospital billing, patient bill preparation, payment coordination, insurance support, discharge billing, and billing documentation at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai. This requires any graduate or commerce graduate qualification with 3–8 years of experience in medical billing, hospital billing, patient coordination, and financial documentation.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare OPD, IPD, emergency, procedure, and discharge bills accurately.
• Verify patient details, services, investigations, pharmacy usage, and package details before billing.
• Coordinate with nursing, doctors, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, TPA, and accounts teams.
• Explain bill details, payment process, deposits, refunds, and pending dues to patients.
• Handle cash, card, online payment coordination, and receipt documentation as assigned.
• Support discharge billing by tracking pending services, approvals, and final bill clearance.
• Maintain billing records, reports, payment entries, and patient billing files.
• Identify billing errors, missing charges, duplicate entries, or documentation gaps.
• Coordinate with TPA/insurance desk for cashless billing and claim-related requirements.
• Follow hospital tariff, package rules, discount approvals, and billing SOPs.
• Prepare daily billing reports, collection summaries, and outstanding trackers.
• Handle patient billing queries politely and escalate disputes to seniors.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
• Support audit, reconciliation, and financial documentation when required.
• Ensure accurate, transparent, and timely hospital billing services.
