Consultant - Obstetrics and Gynecology

The Consultant - Obstetrics and Gynecology will provide womens healthcare consultation, antenatal and postnatal care, gynecological diagnosis, labour room support, surgical planning, emergency care, and patient counselling at Shreyas Multispeciality Hospital, Kolhapur. This requires MS, DNB, or DGO Obstetrics and Gynecology qualification preferred with 0–1 year of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend obstetrics and gynecology OPD, IPD, emergency, labour room, and ward patients.
• Manage antenatal care, postnatal care, menstrual problems, infertility concerns, infections, menopause, and gynecological disorders.
• Assist or perform deliveries, gynecological procedures, and surgeries as per clinical expertise.
• Monitor maternal vitals, fetal status, investigations, treatment response, and clinical progress.
• Manage obstetric and gynecological emergencies with timely decision-making.
• Coordinate with nursing, OT, labour room, anaesthesia, ICU, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, and billing teams.
• Counsel patients and families regarding pregnancy care, treatment plans, surgical options, risks, and follow-up.
• Maintain consultation notes, consent forms, procedure notes, prescriptions, discharge summaries, and medical records.
• Guide junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff on OBG care standards when required.
• Follow patient safety, infection control, clinical protocols, and ethical medical practice.
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and compassionate communication.
• Deliver safe, high-quality, and patient-centered womens healthcare services.
