Consultant - Nephrology

The Consultant - Nephrology will provide kidney care consultation, chronic kidney disease management, dialysis support, renal emergency care, patient counselling, and nephrology treatment planning at Shreyas Multispeciality Hospital, Kolhapur. This requires DM or DrNB Nephrology qualification preferred with 0–1 year of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Consult patients with kidney disease, renal failure, hypertension-related kidney issues, electrolyte imbalance, and urinary abnormalities.
• Manage chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, dialysis patients, and renal complications.
• Plan and supervise hemodialysis, dialysis schedules, vascular access care, and renal replacement therapy when required.
• Review kidney function tests, urine reports, ultrasound, electrolytes, dialysis records, and clinical progress.
• Coordinate with dialysis unit, ICU, emergency, nursing, laboratory, pharmacy, and dietician teams.
• Manage renal emergencies, fluid overload, electrolyte disturbances, and dialysis-related complications.
• Counsel patients and families regarding kidney disease, dialysis care, medicines, diet, and follow-up.
• Maintain consultation notes, dialysis advice, prescriptions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Support infection control, patient safety, and dialysis quality standards.
• Guide dialysis staff on patient monitoring and procedure safety when needed.
• Follow hospital clinical protocols and ethical nephrology practice.
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based kidney care.
