Consultant - General Medicine

The Consultant - General Medicine will provide complete medical consultation, diagnosis, treatment planning, OPD and IPD patient care, chronic disease management, emergency medical support, and clinical coordination at Shreyas Multispeciality Hospital, Kolhapur. This requires MD or DNB General Medicine qualification preferred with 0–1 year of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Examine OPD, IPD, emergency, and referred patients with general medical complaints.
• Diagnose and manage fever, infections, diabetes, hypertension, respiratory illness, cardiac risk, metabolic disorders, and general medical conditions.
• Review laboratory reports, imaging findings, vitals, medication response, and patient progress.
• Prepare treatment plans and modify medicines based on clinical condition and patient response.
• Coordinate with specialists, ICU, emergency, nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and billing teams.
• Provide pre-operative medical evaluation and co-management for admitted patients.
• Monitor inpatients during rounds and guide treatment modifications.
• Counsel patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, medicines, lifestyle advice, investigations, and follow-up care.
• Maintain consultation notes, prescriptions, progress notes, discharge summaries, and medical documentation.
• Respond to medical emergencies and escalate critical cases when required.
• Follow hospital clinical protocols, infection control, patient safety, and ethical practice.
• Deliver safe, timely, and patient-centered internal medicine care.
