Staff Nurse - Nursing

The Staff Nurse will provide patient care, medication administration, patient safety support, infection control, nursing documentation, and clinical coordination at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai. This requires GNM or B.Sc Nursing qualification with 0–8 years of experience in nursing, patient safety, administration, infection control, medication administration, and clinical care.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to patients in assigned wards, OPD, ICU, or clinical areas.
• Monitor vital signs, symptoms, oxygen level, pain score, intake-output, and treatment response.
• Administer prescribed medicines, injections, IV fluids, oxygen, and nursing care safely.
• Assist doctors and senior nurses during rounds, procedures, patient review, and emergency care.
• Maintain nursing notes, medication charts, patient care records, and shift handover documentation.
• Follow infection control, hand hygiene, PPE, biomedical waste, and patient safety protocols.
• Report abnormal vitals, medicine reactions, patient deterioration, or urgent concerns promptly.
• Coordinate with doctors, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, billing, housekeeping, and patient care teams.
• Support patient admission, transfer, discharge, diagnostic movement, and basic care coordination.
• Educate patients and attendants about basic care instructions under nursing guidance.
• Maintain patient comfort, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Deliver safe, disciplined, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care.
