Job Description
The MRD Technician will be responsible for handling, organizing, and maintaining patient medical records in both physical and electronic formats. The involves ensuring proper documentation, easy retrieval of records, and secure storage in accordance with hospital policies and legal requirements. The candidate will coordinate with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure completeness and accuracy of patient data while supporting smooth hospital operations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage patient medical records in physical and digital formats.
- Ensure accurate documentation, filing, and indexing of patient records.
- Retrieve and provide medical records to authorized personnel as required.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of patient files and clinical documentation.
- Update patient information in hospital management systems (HMS/EMR).
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient records at all times.
- Handle record requests for audits, insurance, and medico-legal purposes.
- Track and manage movement of patient files within departments.
- Archive and store old records as per retention policies and guidelines.
- Assist in coding andification of medical records if required.
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams for record accuracy.
- Prepare reports and maintain logs related to medical records.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, legal standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Support digitization and data management initiatives.
- entify and report discrepancies or missing information in records.
- Maintain proper filing systems for easy accessibility and retrieval.
- Assist during audits, inspections, and quality checks.
- Manage discharge summaries and ensure proper documentation completion.
- Follow data protection and privacy regulations strictly.
