Job Description

The Technician - Laboratory Medicine will support laboratory sample collection, cytology, pathology, microbiology, histopathology, hematology, quality control, and diagnostic documentation at Apollo Hospitals, Bengaluru. This requires B.Sc, DMLT, or BMLT qualification with 1–9 years of experience in laboratory medicine, cytology, pathology, quality control, histopathology, microbiology, hematology, and lab operations.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Collect, receive, label, and process patient samples as per laboratory procedures.
  • Perform routine lab tests and support sections such as cytology, pathology, histopathology, microbiology, and hematology.
  • Verify patient details, sample condition, barcode, test request, and sample suitability before processing.
  • Operate laboratory instruments and support maintenance, calibration checks, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain lab registers, test records, equipment logs, QC records, and documentation accurately.
  • Follow quality control procedures and ensure test accuracy before reporting.
  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, phlebotomy team, sample collection, reporting staff, and lab in-charge.
  • Report critical values, sample rejection, hemolysis, inadequate sample, or equipment issues immediately.
  • Follow biosafety, PPE, infection control, biomedical waste, and sample disposal guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and safe workflow inside the laboratory.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient reports and laboratory records.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and quality-focused laboratory medicine support.
