Job Description
The Staff Nurse will play a vital in patient care by monitoring health conditions, administering treatments, and assisting doctors in clinical procedures. This requires strong clinical knowledge, empathy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in wards, ICU, and other departments.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and progress regularly.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and medical interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and nursing documentation.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, hygiene, and patient safety protocols.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
- Respond promptly to patient needs, emergencies, and critical situations.
- Assist in patient admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and care instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for effective patient care.
- Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to doctors immediately.
- Support emotional and psychological well-being of patients and families.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste management as per guidelines.
- Participate in shift handovers and ensure continuity of care.
- Follow hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
- Work in rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Participate in training programs and continuous professional development.
- Maintain professionalism, empathy, and ethical standards in patient care.
- Contribute to improving patient outcomes and healthcare service quality.
