Manager - Safety, Health and Environment

The Manager – Safety, Health and Environment will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring EHS policies and programs to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. This requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage risks in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setup.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international EHS regulations and standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across facilities.
• Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Promote a strong safety culture through awareness programs and training sessions.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses and implement root cause analysis (RCA).
• Maintain records and documentation related to safety, health, and environmental compliance.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
• Monitor environmental parameters such as emissions, effluents, and waste management systems.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities for inspections, permits, and compliance requirements.
• Develop emergency response plans and conduct mock drills regularly.
• Ensure availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with production, QA, and engineering teams to ensure safe operations.
• Monitor contractor safety and ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
• Implement health surveillance and occupational health programs for employees.
• Drive initiatives to reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety norms and coordinate fire safety training.
• Lead EHS audits and ensure audit readiness at all times.
• Prepare and present EHS reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to management.
• Conduct training on safety procedures, emergency response, and compliance standards.
• Ensure adherence to ISO standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 if applicable.
• Stay updated with evolving EHS regulations and industry best practices.
• Lead and mentor the EHS team for effective implementation of programs.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all EHS-related matters.
• Contribute to building a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace.
