Job Description
The Chemist – Quality Control will be responsible for performing chemical and instrumental analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products while adhering to cGMP and GLP guidelines. This requires precision, technical expertise, and strong documentation practices.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis of raw materials, intermediates, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Operate analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV, IR, and other laboratory equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and cGMP standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records and analytical reports.
- Conduct method validation, verification, and transfer activities.
- Monitor and investigate out-of-specification (OOS) and out-of-trend (OOT) results.
- Perform calibration and routine maintenance of analytical instruments.
- Prepare reagents, standard solutions, and reference standards as required.
- Maintain proper documentation in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Support stability studies and maintain stability data records.
- Ensure proper sampling, labeling, storage, and handling of test materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the laboratory environment.
- Follow safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with QA and production teams for quality-related activities.
- Participate in internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all analytical processes.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory reagents and consumables.
- Stay updated with pharmacopeial standards and analytical advancements.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives in the QC department.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all laboratory activities.
- Contribute to maintaining high product quality and regulatory compliance.
