Consultant Surgical Oncology

Consultant Surgical Oncology is responsible for evaluating cancer patients, planning surgical treatment, performing oncology surgeries, and managing pre-operative and post-operative care. The requires M.Ch Surgical Oncology, MS, or MBBS qualification with 3 to 8 years of experience. Candidates should have expertise in surgical oncology, cancer surgery, patient care, surgical planning, and multidisciplinary cancer treatment.

Role & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients requiring surgical oncology treatment.
• Conduct OPD consultations for cancer-related surgical conditions.
• Plan and perform oncology surgeries as per clinical requirement.
• Manage pre-operative assessment and surgical preparation.
• Provide post-operative care and monitor patient recovery.
• Review imaging, biopsy, pathology, and laboratory reports.
• Coordinate with medical oncology, radiation oncology, anesthesia, ICU, OT, and nursing teams.
• Counsel patients and families about surgery, risks, recovery, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate surgical notes, consent forms, and clinical documentation.
• Manage surgical complications and emergency oncology cases when required.
• Participate in tumor board meetings and multidisciplinary treatment planning.
• Follow infection control, OT safety, and surgical care protocols.
• Ensure proper documentation for procedures, discharge, and follow-up.
• Support quality, audit, and patient safety standards in oncology care.
• Deliver safe, ethical, and patient-centered surgical oncology services.
