Consultant Medical Oncology

Consultant Medical Oncology is responsible for diagnosing and managing cancer patients, planning chemotherapy, coordinating oncology care, and providing specialized clinical treatment. The requires DM Medical Oncology, MD, or MBBS qualification with 3 to 8 years of experience. Candidates should have strong knowledge of medical oncology, cancer care, chemotherapy protocols, patient counselling, and multidisciplinary oncology management.

Role & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage patients with different types of cancer.
• Conduct oncology OPD consultations and clinical evaluations.
• Plan chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, or supportive treatment as required.
• Manage admitted oncology patients and coordinate inpatient care.
• Review biopsy, pathology, radiology, and laboratory reports for treatment planning.
• Coordinate with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and nursing teams.
• Monitor treatment response, side effects, and patient tolerance.
• Counsel patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate oncology treatment records and chemotherapy documentation.
• Manage cancer-related complications and emergency oncology conditions.
• Follow evidence-based oncology protocols and hospital safety standards.
• Ensure safe chemotherapy practices and patient monitoring.
• Participate in tumor board discussions and multidisciplinary case reviews.
• Support palliative care and long-term cancer care planning when required.
• Deliver ethical, compassionate, and specialized oncology care.
