Job Description

We are looking for a Nurse - OPD for the OPD department at Manipal Hospitals, Mysore. The candidate will support outpatient care, patient assessment, doctor assistance, medical documentation, and smooth OPD workflow. The requires nursing qualification, OPD experience, patient handling skills, and the ability to coordinate with doctors, patients, and hospital departments.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Assist doctors during OPD consultations, examinations, and minor procedures.
  • Prepare patients for consultation by checking vitals and basic clinical information.
  • Maintain OPD patient records, medical documentation, and procedure notes.
  • Support patient assessment and communicate relevant information to doctors.
  • Coordinate patient flow to reduce waiting time and improve OPD efficiency.
  • Explain basic instructions to patients regarding medicines, tests, and follow-ups.
  • Coordinate with laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and billing departments.
  • Maintain cleanliness, readiness, and supplies in OPD consultation rooms.
  • Follow infection control and patient safety protocols during OPD activities.
  • Handle patient queries politely and guide them through hospital processes.
  • Support dressing, injections, sample collection, and nursing procedures when required.
  • Track pending reports and assist in follow-up coordination with patients.
  • Maintain proper handover and communication with OPD team members.
  • Ensure professional nursing conduct and patient confidentiality at all times.
