Post Operative Staff Nurse

The Post Operative Staff Nurse will provide specialized nursing care to patients after surgery, including post-operative monitoring, medication administration, wound care support, pain observation, documentation, and recovery coordination at Suyog Hospital, Mysore. This requires B.Sc Nursing or GNM qualification with 1–2 years of experience in post-operative care, ward nursing, or surgical patient care.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor post-operative patients for vitals, pain, bleeding, consciousness, and recovery status.
• Provide bedside nursing care as per doctor and surgeon instructions.
• Administer prescribed medicines, IV fluids, injections, oxygen, and nursing care safely.
• Observe surgical wounds, drains, dressing status, and signs of complications.
• Assist doctors and surgeons during rounds and post-operative patient review.
• Maintain nursing notes, medication charts, intake-output records, and handover documentation.
• Coordinate with OT, ICU, ward, pharmacy, laboratory, billing, and patient care teams.
• Report abnormal vitals, pain, bleeding, infection signs, or deterioration to seniors promptly.
• Support patient shifting from OT or recovery area to ward as per protocol.
• Educate patients and relatives about post-operative care instructions under guidance.
• Follow infection control, hand hygiene, PPE, and biomedical waste standards.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, dignity, and safe recovery after surgery.
