Senior Resident

The Senior Resident  will be responsible for supporting patient care, ward duties, emergency management, clinical documentation, academic participation, and consultant assistance in General Medicine or General Surgery at Bhagyoday Hospital / Medical College, Kadi. This requires MBBS, MD, or MS qualification, clinical knowledge, discipline, and willingness to work in a teaching hospital environment. The candidate will support safe patient care and active clinical learning.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend OPD, IPD, emergency, ward, and assigned clinical department patients.
• Take patient history, perform clinical examination, and support diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Assist consultants and senior doctors during rounds, procedures, admissions, and discharge planning.
• Monitor admitted patients, vitals, investigation reports, treatment response, and clinical progress.
• Write progress notes, treatment orders, prescriptions, discharge summaries, and handover documentation.
• Respond to emergency calls and support patient stabilization as per hospital protocol.
• Coordinate with nurses, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, OT, ICU, and administration teams.
• Assist in procedures, dressings, surgical preparation, or clinical interventions as per department needs.
• Review lab reports, imaging findings, ECG, and other diagnostic reports under senior guidance.
• Counsel patients and relatives regarding care process under consultant supervision.
• Maintain accurate case sheets, consent forms, clinical records, and departmental documentation.
• Participate in case presentations, academic rounds, seminars, journal clubs, and clinical discussions.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, ethical practice, and hospital clinical protocols.
• Escalate critical changes, abnormal findings, or complications to seniors immediately.
• Support safe patient care, academic learning, and smooth clinical department functioning.
