OT Staff

The OT Staff will be responsible for supporting operation theatre activities, preparing surgical instruments, assisting doctors during procedures, maintaining sterile conditions, and ensuring smooth OT workflow. This requires knowledge of OT protocols, aseptic techniques, equipment handling, patient preparation, and surgical support. The candidate will coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, and technicians to maintain safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in the operation theatre.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operation theatre, surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables before procedures.
• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during surgical procedures.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques, sterilization practices, and infection control protocols.
• Check availability and readiness of surgical sets, linen, implants, medicines, and emergency items.
• Support patient shifting, positioning, preparation, and pre-operative checklist completion.
• Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and fumigation support of OT areas as per protocol.
• Handle surgical instruments carefully before, during, and after procedures.
• Maintain OT records, procedure logs, instrument counts, and material usage details.
• Assist in sterile dressing, draping, trolley preparation, and surgical field management.
• Coordinate with CSSD for sterilized instruments and timely material supply.
• Report equipment malfunction, material shortage, or OT safety concerns to supervisors.
• Follow biomedical waste segregation and disposal guidelines inside OT areas.
• Support post-operative patient transfer and handover to recovery or ward staff.
• Maintain discipline, hygiene, PPE usage, and safety standards in OT.
• Ensure smooth coordination with doctors, nurses, anesthesia team, and hospital departments.
