Labour Ward In-Charge

The Labour Ward In-Charge will supervise labour ward operations, delivery room workflow, maternal care, nursing team coordination, obstetric emergency readiness, documentation, and patient safety at Aveksha Hospital, Bengaluru. This requires GNM or B.Sc Nursing qualification preferred with 6–8 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise labour ward, delivery room, and maternity nursing activities.
• Coordinate with obstetricians, anaesthesia team, paediatrician, nursing staff, OT, laboratory, pharmacy, and administration.
• Ensure labour room readiness, delivery instruments, emergency drugs, newborn care materials, and required consumables.
• Monitor antenatal, labour, delivery, and postnatal patient care workflow.
• Guide nursing staff during labour monitoring, delivery preparation, maternal care, and newborn support.
• Maintain labour room records, delivery registers, medication charts, nursing notes, and handover documentation.
• Ensure infection control, hand hygiene, PPE, biomedical waste, sterilization, and maternity care protocols are followed.
• Monitor emergency preparedness for obstetric emergencies, newborn emergencies, and urgent shifting needs.
• Report patient deterioration, abnormal labour progress, fetal distress, bleeding, or emergency concerns promptly.
• Support staff duty allocation, training, supervision, and discipline in labour ward.
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy, compassionate communication, and family-friendly care.
• Ensure safe, organized, and high-quality maternal nursing services.
