Senior Scientific Officer

The Senior Scientific Officer will be responsible for supervising laboratory testing activities, ensuring quality control, reviewing technical processes, supporting reporting workflow, and guiding junior staff. This requires strong laboratory knowledge, documentation accuracy, quality compliance, instrument handling, and coordination with pathologists and operational teams to ensure reliable diagnostic service delivery.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise routine and specialized laboratory testing activities.
• Ensure samples are processed according to approved SOPs and quality standards.
• Review test workflow, QC records, equipment logs, and technical documentation.
• Operate and monitor laboratory analyzers and diagnostic instruments.
• Guide junior scientific officers and lab staff in technical procedures.
• Identify sample, instrument, QC, or reporting-related issues and escalate promptly.
• Coordinate with pathologists, accessioning, reporting, and operations teams.
• Maintain GLP, NABL, biosafety, and data integrity practices.
• Support audits, quality checks, CAPA, and corrective action implementation.
• Monitor turnaround time, pending samples, and test processing efficiency.
• Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and safety in the laboratory area.
• Support accurate, timely, and quality-focused diagnostic reporting.
