Dietician

The Dietician will provide nutrition assessment, diet counselling, therapeutic meal planning, patient education, and diet chart preparation for patients at VIMS Hospital, Ahmedabad. This requires B.Sc Nutrition or M.Sc Nutrition qualification with 0–1 year of experience in dietetics or clinical nutrition.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient nutritional needs based on diagnosis, age, condition, and doctor advice.
• Prepare diet plans for patients with diabetes, obesity, renal disease, cardiac disease, pregnancy, pediatric, and general health conditions.
• Counsel patients and attendants regarding diet, lifestyle, food choices, and follow-up care.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, kitchen, patient care, and clinical departments.
• Monitor patient food intake, tolerance, nutritional progress, and diet compliance.
• Prepare therapeutic diet charts and update them as per clinical requirements.
• Educate patients on balanced diet, portion control, hydration, and nutrition safety.
• Support inpatient diet planning, OPD nutrition counselling, and wellness diet guidance.
• Maintain diet counselling records, patient notes, and nutrition documentation.
• Ensure food quality, hygiene, and diet instructions are followed properly.
• Participate in health awareness programs and nutrition education activities when required.
• Deliver patient-friendly, practical, and evidence-based nutrition guidance.
