Polyarteritis Nodosa

Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) is a rare autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation and damage to the small and medium-sized arteries in various organs of the body. It primarily affects the arteries supplying the kidneys, intestines, nerves, and skin. Symptoms of PAN may include fatigue, weight loss, fever, muscle and joint pain, abdominal pain, skin rashes, and nerve damage. Treatment involves suppressing the immune system with medications such as corticosteroids and immunosuppressants to reduce inflammation and manage symptoms.
