Belzutifan

A drug used to treat adults with renal cell carcinoma (a type of kidney cancer), central nervous system hemangioblastoma (a type of blood vessel tumor), or pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor caused by von Hippel-Lindau disease. It is used in patients who need treatment but do not need surgery right away. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Belzutifan blocks a certain protein, which may help keep tumor cells from growing and may kill them. It may also prevent the growth of new blood vessels that tumors need to grow. Also called Welireg.
