The Operations - ER Executive plays a critical in managing non-clinical aspects of emergency services, ensuring timely patient registration, coordination, and support during urgent and critical situations. This demands quick decision-making, strong multitasking abilities, and the capability to perform under pressure while maintaining high standards of patient care and service.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manage patient registration and admission processes in the emergency department with speed and accuracy.
• Act as the first point of contact for patients and attendants in emergency situations.
• Coordinate with ER doctors, nurses, and support staff to ensure immediate patient attention.
• Facilitate quick triage coordination and ensure patients areected as per severity.
• Ensure all necessary documentation, consent forms, and initial records are completed promptly.
• Coordinate bed allocation and patient transfers between ER, ICU, and wards.
• Handle emergency billing procedures, advance collections, and financial documentation.
• Liaise with insurance providers and TPAs for emergency approvals and cashless processes.
• Maintain real-time updates of patient status and communicate effectively with family members.
• Ensure availability and readiness of ER resources in coordination with concerned departments.
• Monitor patient flow and minimize waiting time in the emergency department.
• Assist in managing medico-legal cases (MLC) documentation as per hospital protocols.
• Coordinate with ambulance services and ensure smooth patient handover.
• Support doctors during peak hours by ensuring quick availability of reports and patient data.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in the hospital management system.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, legal requirements, and emergency care standards.
• Handle patient and attendant queries with empathy and professionalism.
• Coordinate with diagnostic services (lab, radiology) for urgent tests and reports.
• Ensure proper communication between departments during critical cases.
• Monitor ER cleanliness, hygiene, and readiness in coordination with housekeeping.
• Assist in incident reporting and documentation of critical events.
• Escalate operational issues or delays to senior management immediately.
• Support audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives in the ER.
• Maintain calmness, efficiency, and professionalism in high-pressure emergency scenarios.
• Contribute to improving overall patient experience and operational efficiency in the emergency department.
