Nursing In-Charge

The Nursing In-Charge will be responsible for supervising nursing services, managing nursing staff, ensuring quality patient care, monitoring documentation, and maintaining discipline across assigned hospital departments. This requires strong nursing leadership, clinical knowledge, infection control awareness, staff coordination, and patient safety focus. The candidate will ensure smooth nursing workflow, proper duty allocation, quality care delivery, and professional team performance.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff and ensure quality patient care across assigned departments.
• Prepare duty rosters, shift allocation, staff handover, and manpower planning.
• Monitor patient care quality, nursing documentation, medication administration, and clinical compliance.
• Guide nurses during rounds, emergency situations, procedures, and patient monitoring.
• Ensure infection control, biomedical waste, hand hygiene, and patient safety protocols are followed.
• Coordinate with doctors, consultants, nursing supervisors, and hospital departments.
• Review nursing notes, medication charts, ICU flow sheets, handover records, and patient files.
• Handle patient and relative concerns related to nursing services professionally.
• Train and mentor junior nurses on SOPs, clinical procedures, documentation, and hospital protocols.
• Monitor staff discipline, grooming, punctuality, attendance, and work performance.
• Ensure adequate stock of medicines, consumables, emergency supplies, and nursing equipment.
• Support audits, quality initiatives, incident reporting, and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain proper communication between nursing team, doctors, patients, and administration.
• Promote compassionate, ethical, and patient-focused nursing care across the hospital.
• Prepare nursing reports, shift updates, and departmental performance summaries for management.
