Microbiologist Officer

The Microbiologist Officer will be responsible for conducting microbiological analysis of raw materials, water samples, environmental monitoring samples, in-process materials, and finished products in accordance with GMP, GLP, and regulatory requirements. The involves laboratory documentation, microbial investigations, media preparation, equipment handling, and maintaining microbiology laboratory standards. The candidate will contribute to ensuring product safety, quality compliance, and efficient microbiological operations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, water, environmental samples, and finished products.
• Conduct microbial limit tests, sterility tests, culture analysis, and endotoxin testing as required.
• Carry out environmental monitoring and microbiological surveillance activities.
• Prepare and maintain microbiological media, cultures, and reagents accurately.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, SOPs, and microbiology laboratory procedures.
• Maintain microbiology laboratory records, reports, and documentation accurately.
• Operate, clean, calibrate, and maintain microbiology laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Support investigation of microbiological deviations, contamination incidents, and OOS results.
• Coordinate with QA, QC, production, and engineering teams for microbiology-related activities.
• Ensure proper housekeeping, cleanliness, and safety within laboratory areas.
• Participate in validation activities such as cleaning validation and sterilization validation.
• Monitor environmental conditions and report abnormal findings promptly.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazard and microbiological waste.
• Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Maintain inventory of microbiology laboratory consumables and reagents.
• Ensure data integrity and confidentiality of laboratory records and results.
• Prepare microbiology reports, trend analysis, and MIS documentation for management review.
• Assist in training laboratory staff on microbiological practices and safety procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for microbiology operations and quality systems.
• Stay updated with microbiology standards, pharmaceutical regulations, and industry best practices.
