Scientific Officer - Flow Cytometry

The Scientific Officer - Flow Cytometry will be responsible for performing flow cytometry testing, sample processing, instrument operation, quality control, and accurate reporting support in a diagnostic laboratory. This requires knowledge of laboratory techniques, hematology/immunology testing, data accuracy, GLP practices, and coordination with pathologists and laboratory teams to ensure reliable diagnostic outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform flow cytometry sample processing and testing as per laboratory protocols.
• Operate flow cytometry instruments and related laboratory equipment safely.
• Prepare samples, reagents, controls, and panels for accurate analysis.
• Maintain instrument logs, QC records, calibration records, and test documentation.
• Verify patient details, sample quality, labeling, and test requirements before processing.
• Support interpretation workflow by preparing accurate test data for reporting.
• Follow GLP, NABL, biosafety, infection control, and laboratory quality standards.
• Report sample issues, instrument errors, abnormal findings, or delays to seniors.
• Coordinate with pathologists, hematology teams, and accessioning staff.
• Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and proper arrangement of the work area.
• Support internal audits, quality checks, and corrective action documentation.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of flow cytometry investigations.
