Junior Scientific Officer - Hematology

The Junior Scientific Officer - Hematology will be responsible for performing hematology laboratory tests, sample processing, analyzer operation, smear preparation, QC maintenance, and reporting support. This requires knowledge of hematology testing, laboratory safety, documentation, and quality practices. The candidate will support accurate, timely, and reliable test results for patient diagnosis.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Process blood samples for hematology testing as per approved procedures.
• Operate hematology analyzers and related laboratory equipment.
• Perform CBC, peripheral smear preparation, ESR, and other hematology investigations.
• Verify sample quality, labeling, patient details, and test requisitions.
• Maintain analyzer logs, QC records, sample registers, and test documentation.
• Report critical values, abnormal results, or sample rejection issues to seniors.
• Follow GLP, biosafety, infection control, and laboratory quality standards.
• Support slide staining, microscopy preparation, and reporting workflow.
• Coordinate with pathologists, accessioning team, and reporting staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of hematology workstations.
• Support calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting coordination.
• Ensure timely and accurate hematology test processing.
