Job Description
The Manager / Senior Manager – Procurement will be responsible for overseeing procurement activities related to raw materials, packaging materials, engineering items, consumables, and services required for business operations. The involves strategic sourcing, vendor development, contract negotiations, inventory coordination, cost optimization, and ensuring timely procurement in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. The candidate will play a key in strengthening supplier relationships and improving procurement efficiency.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end procurement operations for materials, equipment, and services.
- Develop procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and operational requirements.
- Source and evaluate vendors, suppliers, and service providers for quality, cost, and reliability.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and procurement agreements effectively.
- Ensure timely procurement and availability of materials to support uninterrupted operations.
- Coordinate with production, QA, QC, warehouse, finance, and planning teams for procurement planning.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize procurement schedules to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Conduct vendor performance evaluations and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, GMP standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply risks to support strategic decision-making.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and procurement process improvements.
- Manage purchase orders, contracts, quotations, and procurement documentation accurately.
- Ensure timely resolution of supplier issues, delivery delays, and quality concerns.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities related to procurement operations.
- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and MIS reports for management review.
- Coordinate import/export procurement activities and logistics when required.
- Ensure proper evaluation and onboarding of new suppliers and vendors.
- Lead procurement team activities and provide guidance for operational efficiency.
- Support sustainability, quality improvement, and continuous enhancement initiatives in procurement.
- Stay updated with industry trends, sourcing strategies, and supply chain best practices.
