RMOs/Ward Officers

S.L Raheja Hospital is seeking dedicated and clinically competent RMOs/Ward Officers to provide round-the-clock medical care, ensure effective patient management, and support clinical operations across assigned wards. The involves patient evaluation, coordination with consultants, accurate documentation, and adherence to hospital protocols and accreditation standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct daily independent rounds during assigned shifts and monitor patient conditions.
• Review and countersign all clinical documentation maintained in patient progress sheets.
• Coordinate with consultants during rounds and accurately document their instructions and treatment plans.
• Assess patients’ clinical status and escalate critical conditions to consultants for immediate intervention.
• Communicate effectively with patients and relatives regarding treatment plans and procedures.
• Obtain informed consent for ward procedures and ensure proper documentation.
• Prepare and verify blood requisition forms and compatibility reports.
• Transcribe and sign medication orders in drug charts as per NABH and hospital guidelines.
• Maintain narcotics records including Patient Narcotics Sheet and Form 3E as required.
• Perform minor medical procedures such as wound dressing, suturing, catheter insertion/removal, etc.
• Facilitate smooth internal and external patient transfers with complete documentation.
• Coordinate with TPA department for insurance approvals and documentation.
• Prepare detailed discharge summaries including treatment course, condition at discharge, medications, and follow-up advice.
• Ensure all discharge summaries are reviewed and signed before handing over to patients.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records in compliance with hospital policies.
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices.
• Be available for emergency situations and provide immediate medical support when required.
• Participate in hospital camps and outreach programs as needed.
• Work in rotational shifts and ensure continuous patient care coverage.
• Remain present in assigned wards during duty hours and inform concerned authorities before leaving.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other departments for coordinated patient care.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, ethical practices, and hospital guidelines.
