Consultant - Paediatric Intensivist

The Consultant - Paediatric Intensivist will manage critically ill children, PICU care, pediatric ventilation, emergency stabilization, organ support, and multidisciplinary pediatric critical care at Aster DM Healthcare, Kannur. This requires MBBS with MD / DNB Pediatrics and Fellowship in Pediatric Intensive Care with 2–7 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill pediatric patients in PICU and emergency areas.
• Monitor vitals, ventilator support, oxygen therapy, fluids, labs, and organ support.
• Respond to pediatric shock, sepsis, respiratory failure, seizures, and emergencies.
• Coordinate with pediatrics, ICU nurses, emergency, laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy teams.
• Maintain PICU notes, procedure records, consent forms, and handover documentation.
• Counsel parents through approved clinical communication processes.
• Guide junior doctors and nursing staff on pediatric critical care protocols.
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based pediatric intensive care.
