Staff Nurse

The Staff Nurse will be responsible for delivering safe nursing care, monitoring patient condition, administering medications, assisting doctors, and maintaining accurate nursing documentation in an eye hospital environment. This requires B.Sc Nursing or GNM qualification, clinical discipline, infection control awareness, and compassionate patient communication. The candidate will support smooth ward, OT, OPD, and patient care services while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to patients as per hospital protocols.
• Monitor vitals, patient condition, treatment response, and clinical changes.
• Administer medicines, eye drops, injections, IV fluids, and nursing care as prescribed.
• Assist doctors and ophthalmologists during rounds, procedures, and patient care activities.
• Prepare patients for eye investigations, procedures, surgery, admission, and discharge.
• Maintain nursing notes, medication charts, handover records, and patient documentation.
• Follow infection control, hand hygiene, biomedical waste, and patient safety practices.
• Educate patients and relatives about medication, eye care, and post-treatment instructions.
• Coordinate with OT, pharmacy, front office, billing, diagnostics, and doctors.
• Report abnormal patient findings, complaints, or incidents to seniors immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and readiness of nursing stations and patient areas.
• Deliver compassionate, ethical, and patient-focused nursing care.
