Resident Medical Officer

The Resident Medical Officer will be responsible for providing medical care, patient assessment, emergency response, clinical monitoring, and documentation in the hospital. This requires MBBS qualification, sound clinical knowledge, patient care discipline, and coordination with consultants, nurses, diagnostics, and hospital departments. The candidate will ensure timely treatment support, accurate medical records, patient safety, and smooth emergency department operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients in emergency, OPD, IPD, ward, ICU, and assigned hospital departments.
• Take patient history, perform clinical examination, and evaluate medical condition.
• Provide initial diagnosis, emergency stabilization, and treatment support as per hospital protocol.
• Monitor patient vitals, investigation reports, treatment response, and clinical progress.
• Assist consultants during rounds, procedures, admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
• Attend emergency cases and provide timely medical intervention when required.
• Write prescriptions, treatment orders, progress notes, and discharge-related documentation.
• Coordinate with nursing staff for medication administration, investigations, and patient care.
• Review laboratory, radiology, and diagnostic reports and inform consultants about critical findings.
• Support admission, referral, transfer, discharge, and follow-up processes as per hospital policy.
• Counsel patients and relatives regarding treatment plans under consultant guidance.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, consent, and hospital clinical care protocols.
• Respond promptly to critical patient changes, code calls, and urgent medical situations.
• Maintain accurate case sheets, handover notes, emergency records, and medical documentation.
• Coordinate professionally with doctors, nurses, technicians, and administration teams.
