Officer

The Officer – EHS will be responsible for supporting environmental, health, and safety activities across laboratory, plant, and facility operations. This involves safety inspections, compliance monitoring, incident reporting, training coordination, waste management, and emergency preparedness. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of environmental science, fire and safety practices, workplace safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements within a chemical, pharmaceutical, or research-based organization.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct routine EHS inspections across laboratories, plant areas, stores, and utilities.
• Monitor compliance with environmental, health, safety, and fire safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and potential workplace hazards.
• Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions for safety observations.
• Conduct safety induction, toolbox talks, emergency drills, and awareness training.
• Maintain records related to incidents, near misses, safety inspections, and training activities.
• Assist in investigation of accidents, incidents, spills, and emergency situations.
• Monitor proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste.
• Ensure availability and proper use of personal protective equipment by employees.
• Support fire safety checks, emergency equipment inspection, and evacuation preparedness.
• Coordinate with departments for risk assessment, job safety analysis, and permit systems.
• Maintain compliance documentation required by statutory and regulatory authorities.
• Assist in environmental monitoring, waste management, and pollution control activities.
• Promote a safe working culture through regular communication and awareness initiatives.
• Report EHS performance, risks, and improvement actions to senior management.
