Job Description
The Purchase Manager will be responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and managing procurement of hospital materials, equipment, and services. The requires strong vendor management skills, negotiation abilities, and knowledge of healthcare procurement systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for hospital requirements.
- Manage end-to-end purchasing of medical, surgical, and non-medical supplies.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms with vendors.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of goods and services.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels in coordination with stores and departments.
- Monitor stock levels and prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain purchase orders, invoices, and procurement records.
- Coordinate with finance department for payment processing and approvals.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procurement guidelines.
- Conduct market research toentify cost-saving opportunities.
- Evaluate vendor performance and maintain vendor database.
- Handle procurement of capital equipment and consumables.
- Ensure adherence to budgetary limits and cost control measures.
- Coordinate with clinical and non-clinical departments for requirements.
- Resolve supply chain issues and ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Maintain documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
- Stay updated with market trends and pricing in healthcare procurement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
