Technician - Blood Bank

The Technician - Blood Bank will support blood bank operations, blood sample testing, component handling, compatibility testing, documentation, and safe blood issue at Aster DM Healthcare, Kochi. This requires DMLT, B.Sc MLT, or Blood Bank Technician Course with 2–7 years of experience in blood bank services.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform blood grouping, cross matching, screening, and compatibility testing.
• Support blood component preparation, storage, issue, and inventory documentation.
• Verify patient details, donor details, blood unit number, and expiry before issue.
• Maintain blood bank registers, testing records, temperature logs, and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, laboratory, OT, ICU, and emergency teams.
• Follow blood bank safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
• Report abnormal results, mismatches, or stock shortages promptly.
• Ensure safe, timely, and accurate blood bank support.
