Medical Officer

The Medical Officer will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients, coordinating with consultants and healthcare teams, and ensuring effective clinical management across departments. The involves handling OPD/IPD cases, emergency care, maintaining medical records, and ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients in OPD, IPD, and emergency settings.
• Provide immediate medical care in emergency and critical situations.
• Assist consultants in patient management, procedures, and clinical decision-making.
• Monitor patient progress, review treatment plans, and update medical records regularly.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient history, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Prescribe medications and therapies as per clinical guidelines and hospital protocols.
• Coordinate with nursing staff and other departments for comprehensive patient care.
• Conduct routine rounds and attend to patient queries and concerns.
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, infection control practices, and safety standards.
• Handle admission and discharge procedures efficiently.
• Participate in case discussions, clinical audits, and continuous medical education activities.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow ethical medical practices.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (NABH, etc.).
• Assist in medico-legal cases and maintain proper documentation.
• Support implementation of hospital quality improvement initiatives.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and preventive care.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and code blue situations.
• Coordinate with diagnostic departments for timely investigations and reports.
• Maintain inventory of emergency drugs and ensure readiness of medical equipment.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, patient-centric, and efficient healthcare environment.
