Grandpas Day

Marian McQuade began a movement to designate a special day to honor grandparents in 1970. She was able to connect with governmental, business, religious, and civic leaders as a result of her efforts, and she also started a statewide campaign for Grandparents Day.

The 18th of March of every year must be observed as "Grandparents and Grandchildren Day."

Grandparents Day became a recognized holiday in 1978 thanks to a presidential proclamation by President Jimmy Carter. Additionally, it is not only for grandparents.
