Fresh Spinach Day

Fresh Spinach Day is an annual event celebrated on July 16th to celebrate the health benefits of fresh spinach. It was created in 2012 by the Spinach Council of America.

July 16th is the birthday of Popeye, the cartoon character who is famous for his love of spinach. Popeye was created by Elzie Crisler Segar in 1929 and has been entertaining audiences for generations.

Spinach is a nutrient-rich vegetable that is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It is a good source of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as folate, magnesium, and potassium. Spinach is also a good source of dietary fiber.
