Pathologist

The Pathologist will be responsible for supervising pathology laboratory services, validating reports, ensuring diagnostic accuracy, monitoring quality control, and guiding laboratory teams. This full-time on-site requires MD Pathology or DCP qualification, strong knowledge of laboratory medicine, quality standards, reporting accuracy, and coordination with technicians, clinicians, and management. The candidate will ensure reliable, timely, and clinically relevant pathology reporting.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise pathology laboratory operations and diagnostic reporting workflow.
• Review and validate hematology, biochemistry, clinical pathology, cytology, or other lab reports as applicable.
• Ensure accuracy, reliability, and clinical relevance of laboratory test results.
• Monitor internal quality control, external quality assurance, calibration, and documentation.
• Guide lab technicians on sample processing, critical values, report accuracy, and SOP compliance.
• Review abnormal, critical, or doubtful results before report release.
• Coordinate with clinicians, radiologists, cardiologists, and laboratory teams for diagnostic correlation.
• Ensure sample acceptance, rejection, processing, and reporting follow approved protocols.
• Maintain laboratory quality records, audit documents, and compliance files.
• Support NABL, quality audits, corrective actions, and process improvement activities.
• Ensure biosafety, infection control, biomedical waste, and laboratory safety standards.
• Train laboratory staff on quality practices, reporting discipline, and technical procedures.
• Communicate critical reports to concerned doctors or patients as per policy.
• Monitor turnaround time and support timely report delivery.
• Deliver ethical, accurate, and quality-focused pathology services.
