X-Ray Technician

The X-Ray Technician will be responsible for performing diagnostic X-ray procedures, preparing patients, operating radiology equipment, and ensuring image quality under doctor or radiologist guidance. This requires knowledge of radiographic positioning, radiation safety, imaging protocols, patient handling, and documentation. The candidate will support accurate diagnosis by maintaining patient comfort, following safety standards, and ensuring smooth radiology workflow.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform X-ray imaging procedures as per doctor or radiologist instructions.
• Prepare patients for radiographic examinations and explain the procedure clearly.
• Position patients correctly to obtain clear and accurate diagnostic images.
• Operate X-ray equipment safely according to approved imaging protocols.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines and use protective devices for patients and staff.
• Verify patient identity, investigation request, clinical details, and required imaging area.
• Maintain patient comfort, privacy, and safety during imaging procedures.
• Check image quality and repeat images only when clinically or technically necessary.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness, readiness, and basic operational checks.
• Record procedure details, patient information, and imaging documentation accurately.
• Coordinate with radiologists, doctors, nurses, reception, and reporting teams for workflow.
• Report equipment malfunction, technical issues, or safety concerns immediately.
• Assist in emergency, inpatient, and portable X-ray procedures when required.
• Follow infection control, PPE, and biomedical waste management practices.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient reports, images, and medical information.
