Billing Assistant Manager

The Billing Assistant Manager will be responsible for supervising hospital billing operations, ensuring accurate invoice generation, managing patient billing queries, and coordinating with insurance, TPA, finance, and front-office teams. This requires strong knowledge of healthcare billing processes, cashless claims, package billing, credit billing, and revenue cycle coordination. The candidate will ensure timely billing closure, error-free documentation, compliance with hospital policies, and smooth patient financial experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise daily hospital billing operations for OPD, IPD, emergency, and diagnostic services.
• Ensure accurate bill preparation, package application, discounts, refunds, and final settlement processing.
• Monitor cash, credit, insurance, TPA, and corporate billing activities for accuracy.
• Coordinate with admission, discharge, nursing, pharmacy, diagnostics, and finance teams for billing clearance.
• Review patient bills, supporting documents, approvals, and payment details before final submission.
• Resolve patient billing queries, disputes, and escalations in a professional manner.
• Track pending bills, outstanding payments, credit cases, and discharge billing timelines.
• Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies, tariff guidelines, and documentation standards.
• Support insurance and TPA claim documentation, pre-authorization, and billing reconciliation.
• Prepare daily billing reports, revenue summaries, pending discharge reports, and MIS updates.
• Train billing executives on billing procedures, software usage, documentation, and patient handling.
• Identify billing errors, process gaps, revenue leakage, and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate with finance for collection reconciliation, refund processing, and audit requirements.
• Support internal audits by maintaining accurate billing records and transaction documents.
• Ensure timely discharge billing completion while maintaining patient satisfaction and financial accuracy.
